Hi guys hope you're all wrapped up in your aquariums what with the on going unmentionables.
Recently changed the feeding for my community tank. Was previously giving a mix of Aquarian complete flakes and betta choice catfish pellets twice a day, with occasional frozen bloodworms or mushy peas.
For past 2 days I've used tetra prima granules instead of the pellets. All fish seemed keen on it. Today I've noticed that the honey gouramis and otos are producing large volumes of poop. Long brown strings. (Most frustratingly this started soon after a water change and gravel Hoover. Now I understand how my mum felt when I'd start lounging around after she'd cleaned...)
My question is - is this good or bad? Were they previously constipated and now unblocked? Or is the fact that they are trailing poo mean they are currently constipated?
Thanks in advance
Stay safe
Concerning number twos...

Its likely they’ve had a good meal, hence the long poop
Its better to see them doing it than not as if they aren’t passing waste then they could be constipated or not eating

Trailing poo is a good sign unless it's quite clear (except after garlic).
Otos quite often do that anyway, especially after fresh veg.
Gourami will probably digest granules better than flakes.
I don't use flakes any more, just granules (the Tetra mini ones) and pellets.

Better out than in.
