Digital Water Testing

Christmas is coming, or so they say...

So i'm thinking about buying a digital water testing kit. I do like the ability to have the tests on a app for me to see and track. I'm currently doing it the old fashioned way with the API Master test kit, recording on excel and then will eventually ask my wife to graph it up for me. (she's a whizz on Excel)

I've found one on the web for £300 - https://www.itseurope.co.uk/products/ex ... w4EALw_wcB - I can add the strips to those that i require, dGH, dKH, Nitrate etc to match those in the API Master set.

Does anyone currently use one? would be great to know your thoughts on the 'value' of them v the current way etc.

pH and TDS pens are good, but strips are not accurate.

I guess the argument is that at that cost it should be more accurate...

Personally I wouldn’t bother. It’s a heck of a lot of money for something that you already have just so it’s in an app.

I’d go so far as to say that unless you’re spending serious money, the error factor in smaller every day tests mean that their accuracy is questionable too...

i do have a pH pen and when compared to the drops test it's pretty accurate as i can see. However, i take your point that the common denominator here being the 'test strips' themselves are generally considered to be inaccurate. I think i'll wait until i win the lottery then and then invest in a £3,500 in tank auto testing thingy.

Id happily swap that for an API kit. They’re cheap, easy and reliable.... but that’s just me. I like the idea of physically doing the tests so I know they’re right.
