I'd probably try a mix of Esha 2000 and Esha Exit, just to cover everything that the Gdex doesn't.

Well my poorly female died yesterday... Sure I posted this elsewhere...

Anyway on checking this morning I have at least 2 fry in the tank!?! Impressive from the poorly male...
I'd like to save them if possible but have no other tank available yet. What do you think I should do? (I don't have a breeder net and the box I have has holes that are too big)
Also do I need to culture some infusoria?

That's brilliant, I can't help with advice but if this post gets missed perhaps try posting a separate question about the fry, good news, though sorry about the female

Sorry to hear about the female. :(
It is good news about the fry. :)
Try Tetramin Baby food, I usually have a pot just in case.

Well I went to get some tetramin from p@h tonight but they have changed their opening times since last time I went and now close at 7, not 8... should have gone at lunch.

At least that trip was also to pick up a curry! :D

Yesterday I followed instructions from somewhere on culturing infusoria
Hopefully the jar with old manky lettuce, boiled water and tank water will be cloudy in a good way tomorrow, as they haven't had any food yet... though I may have done it wrong as I added the tank water right after the boiled water, probably defeating the object of adding tank water, killing it's infusoria starter stuff (however that works)
I dont have anything else tonight other than flake, frozen daphnia or cyclops, or micro pellets... or algae wafers...

Tetramin baby is now being fed... the lettuce is kinda cloudy, but I'm less inclined to risk more problems!

I found another fry in the tank, but also can't find one of the two I already scooped into the takeaway tray - thinking it got back in somehow...
Also I think i see a small round white dot - possibly an egg? or maybe a leftover food granule.. we'll see!

Found an interesting article in my distraction from work. Mention of blackhead disease with skin eruptions sounds familiar... unfortunately... (page 460 - or 451 if looking at the page numbers on the paper)

Edit... there are a lot of pages, I haven't read it all!

It looks good to check specific things - not sure it's on my reading list though,

Think I spotted another baby this morning (main bit of the qtank), but it may have just been a shadow... and the little white glob is still a white glob, not disappeared or changed,
Tetramin baby doesn't seem to be getting eaten, so I'm biting the bullet and trying my cloudy lettuceaid

Hope I find some more fry, that would be great news to continue the line - provided these don't suffer the same fate,

These fry wouldn't be raised in the medical concoctions that the farms use, so would be more immune.
It may not stop the blackhead problem, but it would cut down on the chances of it.

Thats good to think about and hopefully I've saved what I think are some more eggs (pic coming), though unfortunately I seem to be losing the fry...
I have a feeling it is due to not being part of the tank which I thought would be fine for such a tiny bioload, but any leftover food or infusoria may be making the water nasty.
So, I am fashioning a breeder net using a floating breeding trap and some green cloth with tiny holes in. I have also added one to my basket to order as they are only a couple of ££
The trap on its own has slots that are too large, even guppy fry at a week or 2 old were escaping regularly.
