I'd say that Max value of 9.38 is a Maverick or a typo! Our UU supply is Min 7.05 Avg 7.25 Max 7.57mikeyw64 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 7:28 am Observation
My tap waters PH is still down at 6.6-6.8 (although that's up a little on where it was).
I can only presume UU have switched where my water comes from as according to their website it "comes from local upland reservoirs and can be supplied by the River Dee and Lake Vyrnwy."
Interestingly that's lower than the lowest officially recorded over the last 12 months. That high is borderline on regulatory!!!

Ah but although we're both with UU Oldham gets its water from the Lake District and from local reservoir sources.
Here in Hindley Green it comes from local upland reservoirs and can be supplied by the River Dee and Lake Vyrnwy.
So the recorded figures will be different
Ojh and I thought my water was soft at 3.5 clarke, yours is even softer at 1.6 clarke!
BTW I'm using the Royal Mails postcode of OL1 1AA to get figures for Oldham which is the Lowbrook zone. For where I am you can use the local church WN2 4SA which is in the same zone, Hindley, as myself

I know our water is different: I posted my results for reference. The high result in your water is likely down to a single reading, otherwise the average would be around 8.0. I just hope they have addressed that problem area though!
As you say, its on the limit for drinking water. My tap water is too soft imho, I have added a few rocks in my tanks to lower the pH and raise the GH a little, the 160 has some gravel mixed in with the sand which alters the pH, I removed most of said gravel after testing a small amount and seeing the GH rise to 11! My lfs had no clue about the gravel they are still selling, I told them how it affects the local water parameters but I was met with blank looks

Just re-checked, mine is currently 2.24, down from 2.38 last time I checked. How come its so different from one area to the next? I'm in OL9, OL1 is actually just a few streets away. I used to live in OL8, then I bought my first house and moved just up the road, about half a mile, my postcode changed to OL1...all my insurance went up! The insurance firms all said I'd moved into the 'town centre' region, and was higher risk, robbing gits, I moved 2 streets!
