Mollies and shrimp

40L is better as water stability is key with shrimp.
You will loose some to start with ( you just can't avoid it )
I use a light riversand in my shrimp tank, but also plenty of leaves and other pods which not only give them something to graze on, but have health benefits too.
Mine get fed mixed sinking pellets, which they love. I do treat them to shrimp pyramids or shrimp lollies every now and again.
