Hi,
I have a pair of Dwarf gourami's in a new-ish (4 months) 160 litre, well planted community tank with the following tank mates:
6 neons
5 Sparkling G's
6 Otto's
2 Fairy Cory's
3 Khuli
Water stats all good.
About 4 weeks ago he built a nest, the pair mated and she delivered plenty of eggs.
Ever since he has been apparently attending to the nest, adding bubbles, removing leaves etc.
There has been no sign of any fry whatsoever yet he is still protective, chasing off other fish etc.
I know that the eggs hatch pretty quickly and we should have seen something by now.
Do you think the eggs were duds and will he continue this behaviour until they mate again?
Thanks for your time.

I had two males and one continually maintained a nest picking up sand from the bottom as if eggs had dropped out so I don't think it's a sign there are any eggs.

Anabantoids will create bubble nests and tend to them without a female present. Forever feeling lucky I guess.
I've tried to find a picture of my old Betta doing it, but I take too many photos of my Dog
