Several weeks ago i noticed one of my bettas has some whitish grey patches on his face and body - not like growths but like patches of missing scales. Initially it looked like he'd injured himself somehow, though I wasn't sure how and now I'm much less inclined to think that's the case. ...

He's continued to change steadily to a white/silver colour, including throughout his fins. Although he seems to be resting a lot, when he does swim he's quite active and he's still really keen on his food. I'm assuming change in pigmentation is due to age? If not any ideas?

They can loose colour and go more grey when they are 3+ years old so could be a possibility.

I've found they start to lose pigmentation after about 2 years.....
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!
