ah ok, the Aquaplus should remove both chlorine and chloramine if its in your water, so it shouldn't be that causing the issue. I wouldn't use Stress coat as iirc can cause issues with too much slime coat on the fish. I have a feeling that can look like white slime/lifted scales too so maybe stop using that :)

Thanks for the tip! I never double-dose the Stress Coat as it recommends for ill fish but I'll just stick to the Fluval stuff for now. This might be the case for the male who's perked up a bit, will send pics in a bit.

Fluval Aqua + also coats the fish, so I wouldn’t use that either. I’d stick with the Prime.
I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.

Here's the one who's been more energetic. Can't get a decent photo of the other who is hiding in the darkest part of the tank, and I'm not helped by the bleedin' curved front of the Fluval Flex!

Their body shapes make them look old?
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

I agree that this one does look old. And he's about full-grown size, but the others are much smaller and more rounded. Sadly, the one that passed away looked quite young imo.

Managed to get pics of the other one who's been lethargic. Had to use "Pro Mode" on my phone

Guppies are awful for trying to get in-focus! But you can see the shape of his belly and the state of his tail especially. It doesn't look like fin rot in that the rays aren't showing through, it looks more like nip damage (which I assumed it was when I got them because they were in a tank with goodeids and a turtle).

Unfortunately, this one problem buying stock from aquatics, fine when the species is obviously smaller and not fully grown adults, but sometimes it can be difficult to tell how old these fish are from a whole seller originally.

When I purchase any livebearers, I expect them to only live for around six months or so, relying on the forthcoming fry to replace them.

I you want any Endlers, just asked. They can be couriered.

Really unfortunate that it's so hard to tell. They're at least second-time rehomes, last time in October I think so they're all at least 4 months old.

I'll let you know about getting more in future, thanks for the offer! I'll certainly wait until it warms up a bit (unless you're based anywhere near Bristol?) Fortunately the two I have in quarantine that I bought at a local event are doing really well but I'll have to wait until the current issues are sorted to move them out and make space for more, of course.

Ordered some Prime this morning so will be moving to that ASAP.

North Kent. Keep your eye out on eBay, sometimes you find locally, often these are fish breeders.

I'm lucky, there an elderly gentleman down the road from me that breeds livebearers. :]
