Sorry to be the first to put a downer on things. It’s a nice looking pond, but it needs to be at least 4 feet deep for koi, to allow for proper muscle development. It’s also massively overstocked.

..... and overstocking is a personal choice. If it's well filtered and the water quality is good then it's not a problem. I accept I won't get the biggest koi but some are 60cm plus! My ultimate goal is to reduce the stock to 10-12 bigger higher quality koi!

Oops. Ok. It looked only ‘floor deep’ from the picture. A reflection of the rug, it seems. :)

I'm presuming it's taken from an upstairs window, and I'm struggling to see a rug, just a gravel path?? ;) :)

Ah ok. It looked indoors when I first saw it. That also threw me a bit.
