What you have to remember is that fish in the wild never know when the next meal is coming, so they grab what they can when it's available. Before I get stuck in to building up my substrate, wonder if I could lean on you guys for some advice and guidance... Thanks, the first went in 12 days ago. White Cloud/gold Mountain Minnow. 24litre tank with filter, heater to keep between 18-23. We are currently 2 weeks in. Do I take it the aquatic / pet store told you this was OK to do this? Unfortunately, many store don't give very good advice to new fishkeeper...

If the amount poop has increased I'd suggest maybe your feeding them a little much. They do eat everything in just over a minute, and I already worry about the 2 smaller guys that hang around the back when I feed them. Their around .20 of a millimetre when they hatch.
You be surprised how many will survive, especially if your fish are well fed.
