Hope everyone is well,lost my fish keeping mojo but stuck with the shrimp.
I wanted a new challenge so gave a friend my crystal red colony and started a mixed caridina tank in November last year.
It's nice to see a berried shrimp and not have a clue what the babies will look like.

If it's only the shrimp in there I would be happy with Ph 6 - 6.6,as long as it is relatively stable.
Big changes are the main upset to shrimp in my opinion.
Fingers crossed it's getting stable now.
Bacter ae in small doses will help rebuild the biofilm

I think his ideas of what media goes where are spot on until he puts polishing pads before biological media,be it bio home or ceramic rings alfagrog ect. Setting up with coarse,medium and fine sponges before bio media has always been ok for me,it traps large muck before the bio media and providing m...
