Re: Air pump

Hi I am looking to buy a new air pump and wanted one that is quieter that what I have any recommendations Thanks :swim: :swim: :swim: :swim: What brand do you currently have? If it's a known noisy one, then you might have several options for quieter ones. Tetra Whisper are said to be quiet.

Re: Just as the weather cools .... then this

I'd totally nail them on the warranty- go to Citizens Advice about it or join Which? Legal. They can't get away with shirking the warranty laws. I realise that doesn't help where getting an instant replacement is concerned, but I'd go after them for it anyway for 3 reasons- on principle, for breakin...

Re: Pleco advice

For some reason I was thinking your tank was smaller than it is! A common will be fine but prepare for a LOT of mess :D Ah OK, mess is something I could do without more of with oscars and parrots in there so you've done me a favour! Shouldn't think a plec would make all that much more mess, tbh.

There are plecs that grow too big for an oscar to eat, but not too big for your tank- ones that grow to around 6''.

Re: Plant lighting

Thanks all! I like the look of the Superfish retro LEDs - look like they would be easy to fit into the existing Juwel hood. iQuatics looks good too - if I buy a whole new T5 hood that’s what I’ll get but I’m swaying towards the retrofit LEDs. Doesn’t seem to be much any drawback and miles cheaper. ...

Not for as long as that.

Re: Serpae Tetras

Serpaes are indeed nasty gits & unlike other nippy shoaling fish, keeping them in large numbers doesn't alleviate the issue. Good to know! They are very attractive fish. Better choices would be rosy/bentos tetras, diamond tetras, red or black phantom tetras or lemon tetras. All of the above wou...
