Re: Sumpings got a hold on me

Nuts, the last video I watched said 24 hours or when the smell had gone. I'll leave it longer.

Re: Sumpings got a hold on me

Over the last few days I carefully cleaned the old silicone off, it was well attached. Yesterday I put the new silicone on and left it a day to set, this evening I filled it up and all was well. Until half past seven when I was looking at the tank, it was as if someone opened a tap and water came ou...

Re: adm's 1st tank

I found courgette was popular with otos, after it had softened a bit they were all over it. A couple of inch chunk means the the others won't demolish it too soon.

I read the 'German' part was added by breeders in Singapore who had bred a very weak strain of blue ram, cross breeding with a German strain was meant to make them more hardy.

Re: Paramecium Concentration Device!

Some time back I was looking to make a filter with pores small small enough to remove suspended algae from water, I needed a fairly big bag and gave up as it was b2b sellers only.
As it happened I found out a chap I was having a drink with was a specialist filter salesman but he couldn't help either.

Re: Working with Deep Aquaria

I did want a 30" tall tank until I needed to reseal this 24" tank, there's no way I'd be able to reach to do the bigger one.
Going taller than 24" also adds a lot of weight and cost, I gave up on taller because a 2 man lift becomes specialist lifting equipment.

Re: Sumpings got a hold on me

Any tricks for removing silicone residue?
I can get most off with a razor blade but there's a bit left I can feel. I've tried acetone and meths substitute but they don't do much.
