I would say 24/25°C would probably be a half decent compromise. The hardest ones to please there are the rummys as they like it warm.

Easy way to tell male and female CPDs apart, mature females have a dark/black spot between the anal and ventral fins
You will find they spar a lot, i found mine especially did it in the morning and afternoon/evening when the sun hit the tank. Its a mad flash of chaos

No need the nitrites stay high for around 10+ days before dropping off the other end of the scale, more or less overnight. It does feel like it’s doing nothing for a while.
IIRC 1ppm ammonia produces 2.5ppm nitrite approximately.
I’m not sure if Dr Tims contains any of the nitrite munchers
