I've added some ammonia and started the fishless cycle as i normally would. As you said, some may have survived, but i'm assuming even if they had, there is probably not enough to cover a full tank of fish anyway, so i would need to build some more up. I'll just wait and see what happens in the next...

Thanks again plankton I'm just about to nip out to see what my LFS have or can get hold of. This may be a bit of a strange one... We like the idea of pearl gourami with zebra loaches - If we went for the 4 (1 male and 3 female), how many loaches should we be looking at? 5? 25-26 degrees looks to be around the right temp for both? Would there be some room/compatability for something ...
