Hi all,

As you know im reasonably new to planted tanks, not fish just the planted side of things, and have been struggling with bba in the past since planting up..
Now my question to you is how much blue light should i be using if i can control it i.e on a Fluval plant 3.0
since i reduced my blue light the bba has reduced drastically but surely if im right plants still absorb some blue light!
Correct me if im wrong..
So between 0 and 100% what would you guys have the blues on for lets say an 8 hour period a day..

Plants do use blue light but not much but is necessary.
The red light is great for plants for photosynthesis as is a certain amount of white light (day light) which is usually full spectrum.
The white light (which includes green light) enables us to see the plants and fish.

I would say about 5-10% for blue light, 20-30% for red light and enough white light to make everything look good through your eyes.
