Cool ta, so the shorter pipe is the main drain and the durso which is higher up is the secondary?Martinspuddle wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 13:13 pmBeing a 'durso' stand pipe it needs a small amount of air flow to work. I had one on my reef aquarium.
So yes that tap is necessary and you'll find a durso stand pipe much quieter than a normal stand pipe ...no bath plug hole noise.
Novice setting up sump advice, help please!

Kinda yeah. Again with this setup, the lower pipe has the valve on it for adjustment and the top one is left open

I run floss on top of my foams in the first chamber. This get swapped out weekly when I do a water change.
Mine goes floss > Sponge over and under the bubble trap > Ceramic media > return chamber (with heater) back to tank.

Check with @fr499y but think if I recall that nylon seals goes under the glass and the rubber above.
Don't glue with pipe weld either.
Surely this aquarium comes with destructions @PaulVerrall?

I'd call ND Aquatics to check. No harm in asking.PaulVerrall wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 11:32 am Nah didn't get instructions, there's pictures on the website that gives you the idea but it's the simpler points that they assume people will know, lol I don't!
I'd be surprised if it was that way round. Usually it needs a seal both sides.PaulVerrall wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 11:34 am

Mine has one seal that s inside the glass, maybe yours has one inside and one outside. Would seem strange to have two inside though.
