An old piece, but is that true? My convict male looks like he's not going to make it, as he and my female were breeding, if he died will she reject all new partners?

Possibly, although she may take a liking to a male of any other cichlid species.....you already have hybrids in the tank. ;)

No. If she wants to breed again she’ll look for a new partner. That article is hogwash. I couldn’t get far into it.
