Hoping the tail on the left is a female. The one on the right is my largest male (and fish) and he's been fanning around this cave entrance for about 3/4 days. The fish on the left has been hanging around outside for about 3 days too.
Just putting in some frozen food with lots of protein to see if that triggers anything.

This does make sense. It has come and gone a few times with the rainbows. The fact it just clears itself up and none of the catfish/ plecs have got anything or event he congo or cardinal tetras does make me think it's something more species specific. Annoying there doesn't massively seem to be much that can be doen other than clean water, but good that it's not deadly in most cases, just unsightly. I'll double the water changes and see how things go.FishBubs wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2024 19:11 pm Is it possible you could be dealing with lymphocytis. It seems to affect some fish but not others.

He's certainly a chunky fish! We're always surprised just how big he is when he makes an appearance. Didn't seem interested in food tonight. Just protecting his cave. Thought she might go in in the video, but he shoved her away in the end. Looks promising though. Unless I end up with another male not allowing the girls in, like in the zebra tank.FishBubs wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2024 19:14 pmHeres hoping your male looks massiveSi4geckos wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2024 18:53 pm

I didn't realise you had swordtails as well Si, do you get any problems with them because of your soft water?
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it!
Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!
