Just finished the 8th water change on the new tank. No sign of any algae issues yet. The biofilm is all over the wood now, I'm going to try and syphon some up tomorrow and strangely the only thing that has died back is the java

The glass where needs cleaning as well. I think it's just dust from the soil.

Out of interest, why are you doing daily water changes? Are you going to cycle it ? Thanks

The water changes are to take out the ammonia coming from the plant substrate. Hopefully the changes stop any algae breakouts.

I wont be cycling it because I have cycled media to go in the filter when I move the fish over.

That wont be till the biofilm is gone.

The betta tank was water change number 4 today. The 2 anubias are lovely but nothing else grows apart from the cory.

Water change number 6 today was the 60p. The tank had lots of bio film and algae to take out, diatoms all over the sand and algae here and there. I removed what I could till the tank was almost empty. Next job was clean the glass wear best I could without taking it off.

When I started filling up I carried on siphoning the mess out of the tank then got Zarra to scrub bits with a toothbrush while I caught what came away.

I need more plants in here. Hopefully soon.

Looks amazing already, assume you are moving the Cory over they will love it, I see your plants are all tied on so no substrate? Also I like your Bonsai what sort of tree is it? They have a few at my local garden centre that are a fair size but they are expensive and not as nice as yours
400l 6ft Asia River Theme - (Scissortails, Tiger Barbs, SAE, Hovering zebra and dwarf chain loach, silver hatchet imposters)
300l 4ft Dagoba theme tank - (phantom tetra, african banded barb, synodontis petricola, gold laser and schwartzi cory)
