The moss makes it look a bit like Dougal from the Magic Roundabout....

I quite like how moss looks when it grows out a bit, but I guess it wouldn't suit the clean lines of your tank, I know what you mean about position of tank, when I had the 180l I had a nightmare with hair algae as it was next to the patio doors never had such an issue with the other tanks which have all seemed a breeze in comparison, so there is an up side, it makes you appreciate things when they are going smoothly

On Saturday I trimmed the java moss during the water change. The tank is getting a water change every other day now. After todays WC I added 18 cherry shrimp from Stans tank.
Before.
After.
The cherrys look great under the twinstar v3 light. I'm quite pleased about it.

The new tank has had 3 water changes this week, mon wed and yesterday.
It seems to be running much better this time around. I can now see the rotala rotindifolia h'ra has started to grow at the back. Since the 18 cherry shrimp have been fine I've added more.
I counted 43 in the bowl, plus the first 18 means I have 61 shrimp in here now.

I was busy with the new tank again today. First job was a bit trimming of the java moss, then clean up and water change.
Then I had a drive down horizon aquatics. Their gallery is filling up nicely now. I had a chat with Nicole and another lad while I had a cup of coffee. After that it was time to buy things. I got a new hang on thermometer seeing as I smashed my last one. A bottle of 2hr aquarist complete zero fertilizer for angels delight. And a fancy hang on the side co2 drop checker made by cal aqua labs. Nicole thinks its the first one sold in the UK. Its lovely.
That wasn't all I bought though.
I've added 12 black neon tetra to the tank and am really happy how they look against the scape. Ill be testing the water for a few days but I'm confident its going to be ok.

Thanks @Martinspuddle. I'm hoping once the background plants get some height it'll look completely different.
This is my first fully high energy set up. Dosing pump and ferts going on next week.

I have 4 of those p1 dosing pumps Martin. One is running angels delight. The other 3 I got in a joblot purchase.
Very easy to calibrate and set up and schedule using the app. Even warns you when your bottle is running out.
