I done some more reading on the JDs and I dont think I'm brave enough to put one on with my Oscars and parrots. My Oscars are very timid compared to what I've seen and read about others, the parrots are just great big sops that are a bit like scrappy doo, give it large but actually have no substance to it.
Acaras I dont know much about, ph and hardness levels.
The tank is far more calm this morning now the vieja has gone.

If I were to get 2 albino tigers, would it not be better to add now whilst mine are juves still or wait until they're adults?

I wouldn't add any more fish at all, but if you REALLY want to try it, yes, do it now......
Don't say I didn't point it out. ;)

R.I.P Sylvester.
We took him because he was deformed and swam off kilter (deformities are common in these, especially swim bladder, breeders usually dispose of them), he was partially sighted and we think he only saw shapes. Because of this no one wanted him, so we took him about a year ago.
Despite his obvious handicaps, he was a massive character, if another fish was poorly, he'd prop up against them and almost look after them. I'd have to hand feed him and more often than not he'd be sucking my fingers because he couldn't see the food properly and I'd end up shovelling blood worms in for him.
He is a massive loss for us and the tank. A real big miss and irreplaceable. 😢😢😢😢😢

Sorry for your loss Paul, he looks a big character, I always feel the loss if it's a fish I've had for a while even though mine aren't character fish - I have as much of that as I can handle with the dog! At least you took him on and gave him a good life that's what matters.

Bit of an update, been battling nitrite in the tank for a couple of weeks but thanks to @Stephen @Blackghost and @Martinspuddle done some renovation to the filter media and hopefully straightened it out.
Fish are all good. I don't know if I just got lucky with my Oscars but had them from 2" now they are 11" and 12" and inseparable they seem to be very much bonded.

They may look moody but they are very personable, quite happy to have a stroke and head rub and put on a show at dinner time dancing to remind me
