nice! I used to keep twigs, so delicate looking I wonder how they would get on with angels...

I'd guess ok, but its whether the angels peck at their tail extensions. I don't know how important they are to them, or if they're just something to distract predators.

One of the local Maidenhead Aquatics had some of these a few weeks ago - so cute! I very nearly bought a couple but reason prevailed (they'd get a little too big for comfort in the potentially available tank) and I didn't.
So I'll be following with great interest to see what I might have won, as it were!

They're staple in MA's these days, more so than Sturisoma and Farlowella in my local. I can't decide whether to get a couple more because they seem incredibly sociable, but information on that is lacking a little on the web.Vale! wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 13:36 pm One of the local Maidenhead Aquatics had some of these a few weeks ago - so cute! I haven't updated this log in a while, as nothings really been happening, plants seem to slowly growing away in very good condition considering I don't use any soils. I'm struggling to get a picture that demonstrates to size of the pictures Anubias, but it's more like a tree these days. I bought it around 7 years ago and have broken it up many times. Keen to let it grow huge now. I was photobombed by the snow white trying to photograph it....
I've also added some Sterbai today - I know what's going to be said so my thinking beforehand. I don't feed masses of beef heart to my Discus as my supplier recommends a more complete diet, and what beef heart goes in doesn't touch the base of the tank, so I think it should be ok. First sign of trouble however I will catch and move them.

The blue fins on the white are brilliant!
As long as the corys get "proper" food as well they should be ok.

The blue fins are more spectacular with the lights out and the sunlight shining on the tank. Reflections don't allow a photo without my immeasurable beauty distracting from the fish. I'm hoping the snow-white keeps growing well as the others have all become stunted from the specialist supplier. The best fish is from a standard LFS. Still think they're awesome nonetheless.
They should be ok eating the flakes I feed. Also plenty of brine shrimp which I put in front of the filter outlet so spreads the tank well to give the Crying Whiptails a chance.

Some more photos of the Discus tank mates. The darker of the two Crying Whiptails is about 10 inches with its tail extension now! Trying to get some information on their sex at the moment as my thought now is opposite to what it is now. The Sterbai have settled in brilliantly, very confident and very keen at dinner time. Great to have some Cory's in the living room again. I love the Discus, but it's always the catfish that I'm drawn to in the tank.

Big clean in the Discus tank today. I decided to get rid of all of the Silvinia, because it was getting on my nerves. Got to about 2" thick after every weeks throw away and it was full of muck. The discus actually seem to be enjoying it gone. Water is a bit cloudy still but it's so much brighter and the fish look better
