I only emptied to below the levels of the first set of filter trays and used a kitchen knife I sharpened up.
Cut through the blobs nearest to the front first and then the rest are easier as you can pull the unit away a bit, once you're through the all of top ones or makes it really easy.
Did a.90% water change after as there was quite a lot of crud behind the unit.

I used to have plenty of fishing line some 20+ years ago until my spine issues prevented me from going fishing.
I'll find something to dislodge the silicon adhesive.

The tetra and otos are now back in the 550L aquarium.
Time to switch off and disconnect the Juwel filter, heater and circulation pump.

Last one I did, cannot remember if it was the Rio 180 or the 240 I just pulled it off the glass ...but then the aquarium was new and empty.

I syphoned the water out (well most of it).
The winning method was using a wallpaper scraper as mentioned by @plankton.
I tried the dental floss without success, I tried some brute force (without a crowbar) but again nothing.
So I grabbed my wallpaper scraper and although it was a tight squeeze it done the job.
I just need to clean off the blobs (no blobs on the base), should be done by 11:00 tonight.
The real work starts tomorrow, firstly by cleaning the aquarium then adding the new substrate and new plants although I managed to save a few plants.
I'm not sure when the new Eheim Pro4 250 external filter will be here but the new air sponge filter arrived today, so I'll set that up ready.
A busy day tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it, I love aquarium setting up, maintenance etc.. as it's all part of the hobby.

I made a start at 10.00am this morning.
I saved about 4kg of sand (now washed) and put the old plant substrate on the garden.
My new plant substrate, sand and plants all arrived this morning (still in the boxes).
Just trying to get the 120L clean which will probably take at least another hour (to around 12:30).
I'm not wanting to over do it today especially as I had a good massage yesterday, so now taking a short break.
Edit at 12.54
The aquarium is now approx 99% clean
Time for another short break.
Edit at 15:07
Plant substrate and sand is in.
I'm going to slowly add a quarter a tank of dechlorinated water, as the water will show if I have the levels right.
I think I'll call it a day then.
The levels were pretty much spot on.
To be totally honest, I'm knackered. Tomorrow's another day.
