Just a quick update

I bit the bullet and ordered a Juwel EccoFlow Pump 1000 to upgrade the default 500 pump on this Juwel Lido 120 LED.
Now that the "black stuff" has all gone I was considering another circulation pump to cover the dead spot near the internal filter but have gone with a more powerful filter pump instead.
I should be able to re-position the current Sicce circulation pump to cover any dead spots (he says).

All fish are well.

I did the same upgrade on my lido 200 Stephen! - Pound for pound its a no brainer upgrade given it clips in and you can often find them on amazon for £40-£45!

I did find it a little bit too powerful for the fish I had but I just used one of the clip in angled outlets and drilled a couple of extra holes in it

I'm currently doing a large water change and clean up today as it's been just over 2 weeks since the last water change due to a very painful back, I am still sore though, but no pain, no gain.
I'm doing things quite slowly today to play safe.
I may attempt to fit the new Juwel pump on the 120L aquarium.
I spotted quite a bit of green algae on the glass of the 120L so cut back the lighting period to 6 hours from 7 hours.
I may have to reposition the circulation pump but will wait to see the effect of the more powerful Juwel pump first so that I can see the dead spots.
Once I've finished on the 550L aquarium (separate thread) then I'll get started on this smaller 120L aquarium.

I have just finished the 120L aquarium and have also upgraded the Juwel filter pump.

Reminds me of a Chas & Dave song (YouTube Link) :P ;)

OK here's a photo of the 120L aquarium taken yesterday.
I didn't post it earlier due to the water marks on the glass which I hadn't cleaned off.
Only 9 x Corydoras trilineatus, 20 x Neon tetra and a few Otos in here at the moment. It was bought as a breeding tank for when I attempt to breed some Gold laser cory.
This is the same aquarium that was previously covered in black stuff.

No black stuff now that I can see, just need those plants to get a bit of height on them :)

I am going to get rid of those plants (except the Alternanthera reineckii 'mini') and replace with some Amazon swords.
Hopefully the new plants will be here Wednesday or Thursday.

If you crop the picture @F3l1ss, the plants don't look to bad. :]
