Sorry to hear this.Wishafish wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 10:10 am We lost a cory. Everyone fine, active and eating well, but first thing one morning I found one dead fish. Water parameters all good, a slight red patch on the underside of the fish but can’t really tell if pre or post mortem. Everyone else still looks fine, so I was resigning myself to “watch and wait”.
I wonder why the red patch ?
Was it the smaller one or one of the others?

Is there anything sharp in your aquarium ?
I just don't know why you're having such bad luck with cory.
I had them for the best part of a year and thought you'd be safe with them as they were bigger.

Thanks Stephen, yes I know, much bigger than my last lot. Nothing sharp - the bogwood is all old and well-rounded and has been in previous tanks with corydoras so I’m fairly sure it can’t be a problem. No ornaments or stones. The filter is built in and the circulation pump is a standard model, no sharp bits. I don’t know why either, but I’ve kept them fine in the past so I don’t honestly think it’s anything I’m doing. The “good” thing is this loss was nothing at all like the sterbai, so hopefully just a random thing. The fact the others have spawned almost immediately pretty much says the tank is fine for them!

Interpet Anti Internal parasite (#9), that's the thing that sorts that problem.
How different to Stephen's water is yours?

Thanks plankton, do you think I need to treat the endlers too? I have shrimp and snails and that medication is not safe for them so this could be challenging if I have to move everyone.
My water is significantly harder, but I acclimated them over more than an hour.

If they have caught something from the tank, you will have to treat the whole lot.....
How much harder exactly is your water?
I've acclimatised corys for over 3 hours when the bag water was significantly different to the tank.
I've also had trouble with trils (not tribbles) in my water that's 7.8dGH......the longest mine have survived was about 18 months, and they were mature and came from the same water as mine, but I don't know what they were kept in while they matured.

I realise that, I just didn’t think it was a risk. The sterbai moved out to the hospital tank over 3 weeks before I got the endlers. What kind of parasite could go that long without a host?
@Stephen’s is 5 I think? Mine is 12. I have stuck to corys that have 12 within their hardness range on seriously fish.plankton wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 12:50 pm How much harder exactly is your water?
