I used the Juwel filter boxes and put my mature media inside (Eheim Substratpro).
This worked well with either the 600L/h pump or the 1000L/h pump.
Because the Juwel internal filter flows from the top to the bottom I rearranged the media as the Juwel original media setup did not make sense (to me).
The media is in 2 sections, the top section I had coarse, medium and fine foams and the bottom section I had the Juwel Cirax media boxes but removed the Cirax and replaced it with my mature media.
The Juwel media boxes are the same size as the Juwel foams/sponges.
Here is my image of the media setup that I used.

Sometimes when there is air trapped in the Juwel filter you get all that spluttering.
All you need to do is turn off the filter, open the filter lid and lift both the media sections up and push them back down firmly. (I believe @plankton suggested that to me) and it worked.
Juwel Cirax media cage/box.
All the best

A few changes in here. I now have even more Endlers (well they do that, but I also bought some nice new males), a shoal of 20 CPDs, and some extra nerites.
The plants have ups and downs - the vallis has all but died off, and the frogbit went from covering the whole tank to almost nothing within weeks for no apparent reason (before the heating issues). It’s recovering now, and the floating plant I can’t remember the name of has come back from nowhere too.
As for the corys… they are doing fine but apparently haven’t read the shy and bottom-dwelling part of their job description!

I kept CPDs before. Stunning little fish with some very energetic entertaining behaviour (also must’ve cost a fairly pretty penny )
Also if you didnt know males have more patterned fins and deeper colour, females are paler. However females have a black/brown dot by their anal fin (its just before the fin if I remember correctly)
You may not get fry from them as they egg scatter around mosses etc but they also have a tendency to eat their own eggs. I did look into breeding them and have a little bit of info locked away

To the tune of “the saints go marching in”:
Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful, they’re white Welsh and fluffy! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful!

Thank you @Gingerlove05
I have kept CPDs before too but they were in a small tank stuck in a corner and I think it was just too small for them as they hid all the time and never really shone. They are not cheap fish but half of them were a present (in voucher form) and then I splashed out and doubled the numbers a few weeks later. The males in full colour are stunning, especially when they display and circle around each other. Some of them are much smaller so I don’t think they are all mature yet and some of the duller coloured ones may also turn out to be males. I will look out for the dot on the females. I have half a mind to try breeding them next year, just need to work out where to squeeze another little tank in.
