Apart from freezing the plants yes, it was although not the easiest aquariums to plant out. The wide brace bars ain't very helpful.Andys temperate tank wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 19:26 pmSounds like a great afternoon mate. In my email in box, Maidenhead aquatics have just confirmed a replacement Aqua Oak hood will be on it's way in the next two weeks.

I don't think the plants will show any ill effects to a blast of cold water, it wasn't freezing/ice just cold for a short while.

All looking good Martin, a day well spent. (very therapeutic)
Looking good but will be looking great in another month or so when the plants start to get established, well done.
I doubt if the water at 16C is cold, I'm sure the rivers where the plants naturally grow is cooler especially during the winter months.
Also if the plants were delivered it was far cooler over-night in the UK.
We generally heat our aquariums to suit the fish and not the plants.
All the best

Clearer pictures this evening although not unexpectedly there's a high volume of tannins in the water column. I did a 170 litre waterchange today, may do another tomorrow.

Mrs. puddle's new curtains arrived ...guess who had to put the pesky things up.

May have to increase the flow as there brown dust from slit or the wood all over the Cryptocorynes, so lower down the flow maybe insufficient.
