Hopefully not then, but it's certainly new and coincides with her new behaviour. I've seen them refered to as stress marks on other pleco groups before. I hope not, but I don't think she has too long left. Lots of time spent near the top of the tank (water is good). She went through a fish-in cycle as well.plankton wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 8:31 am 12 is a good age!
Having got a few of them now, I'm not so sure they are "stress" patches, they appear to be more of a communication or camouflage thing.
When "grumpy" finds his food he changes (and waves his tail) a lot warning the rest of the tank to get away, and they're only guppies and pandas....he's about 5 or 6 times the size of the pandas.

I came across these little chaps today, so I've bought two. They're apparently a Calico x Regular Bristlenose strain. Not seen anything like them before. I don't tend to like man made strains of fish, but I have a soft spot for Bristlenoses. Not long finned though, they're hideous in my eyes.

It's by far more entertaining watching a Bristlenose slowly spinning around eating at the water surface.

Ha! Easier to take photos if they're still though.Martinspuddle wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 16:05 pm It's by far more entertaining watching a Bristlenose slowly spinning around eating at the water surface.

I lost one of my female angels . One of those annoying cases where she looked in perfect nick when I pulled her out. Probably about a week away from going to live at my parents house. I now have two males and one female, and it's currently a war in there. The remaining female doesn't seem to be helping. She's just switching the end of the tank and which male she hangs out with when they're not fighting.
