Hi Nick, the rock in here is called wood stone I think
I agree with what you say about no treatment working but while I have some fish left I feel obliged to at least try, it says to wait 48hrs before changing treatment so I will do that then change to Protozin I still have the 2 whiptails left should I half dose the meds for them?
All fish were affected to some degree not just the barbs, danio, loaches and scissortails I am still loosing them rapidly and to be honest at the moment don't expect any to survive

So frustrating when things like this happen, feel your pain. When I had the discus tank crash which eventually took out 3 discus with no real explaination i was the same.
I like you came to a conclusion on what must of happened, although you never really know.
I guess the only way of knowing 100% whats in the water that goes in is to use RO. But with the amount of waste them things cause - in the current climate it just feels wreckless.

I filter all water through PolyFilter ever since my wipeout in the 90s.
I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.

Agreed. Medications won’t work while the fish are under such “extreme stress”, and will just add to it.Staffylover wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 15:31 pm All fish were affected to some degree not just the barbs, danio, loaches and scissortails I am still loosing them rapidly and to be honest at the moment don't expect any to survive

@black ghost how often do you change the polyfilter sponge?

You should only need one. It’ll change colour. If it removes the toxin it’ll go a colour that isn’t the usual brown -> dark brown -> black...Staffylover wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 16:36 pm @black ghost how often do you change the polyfilter sponge?
