Re: Staffylovers Barbarium (active tank)
Thanks everybody for your kind comments
The Danio are doing great, loving it, using absolutely all of the space, the tigers are being a bit cautious, they hang out together in the plants until I approach the tank when they will come out to the front glass which is nice, they don't have the confidence to shoal up and down, perhaps they will when there is more fish in the space, or they get a bit bigger, I will try and buy fish at bigger sizes from now on for the bigger tanks if I can find some, but don't really plan on adding anything else as such, will see how it looks when the others are added, no doubt something will take my fancy! African red eye tetra look nice in pictures but I have yet to see them 'in the flesh', also should be plenty of room for another catfish or pleco pair, no rush though

Re: Staffylovers Barbarium (active tank)
Had a busy tank day yesterday, all fish have been transferred, already found one issue when a barb managed to jump out of the corner holes in the bracing, I didn't think they would fit but I suppose this is more likely with a shallow tank and a high water line, I've now blocked them up with sponge so it shouldn't happen again,
I still think it needs a few more plants also would like to build up the center area a bit more with caves and stones, it does look pretty full now, more so than the 4ft tank, but this is not actually the case as they have 100l extra, a bigger footprint and less fish numerically, it must be because they are all quite active so it looks busy, the Mascara barbs and scissortails looked great this morning shoaling up and down at the front, think I could do with a more colourful top swimming fish as I have realized the danio and scissortail are my only top swimmers and they are both essentially silver, love them though.
stocking in the tank is not likely to change a great deal and not at all for a while until I know it's stable, currently it houses,
2 torpedo loach
1 Zodiac loach
2 whiptails
11 Leopard danio
4 white cloud minnow that got evicted from the 40l
Scissortails,
barbs - Mascara, Tiger, Setnai, African banded and Snyders
Here are some pics from yesterday,

Re: Staffylovers Barbarium (active tank)
Thanks
Today the pesky barbs have been busy stripping the moss off the new coconut hides so I've had to swop them out with 2 plain ones in the other tank, all the fish are settling down a bit now, it's not so manic as it was.

Re: Staffylovers Barbarium (active tank)
This tank is going through a few teething problems as I sort one out another appears, seem to be through the diatom phase now, just thought I would add this pic of my Synders barb in a bit of sunlight, I don't know why these fish are not more popular/ available as they don't get too big, although I will say a couple of them are very fat but not all so maybe those are the females.
