A larger group would be better making them safer with larger numbers, stunning little fish.
So where's the pictures?!

It appears that I have an incurable case of 'neon tetra disease'.
I have noticed some white spots (not ich) on the anal fins and discolouration on the back end of some of the neon tetra, a few have passed on.
I have even lost a couple of the new pencilfish which may be a unrelated issue.
There's nothing I can do as it is one of those incurable diseases.
So my thinking is to get a different tetra which fits in with the theme, even if it means changing the theme to a nearby river.
I'm hoping to catch the Gold lasers sometime next week and select a mix of male & female for the 120L breeding aquarium.
I'm still looking for some Corydoras virginiae but that may change if i made a small change to the theme.
All good fun.. or not.

Neon Tetras are like Guppies these days, they don't seem to be as strong as they were twenty years ago, maybe it's something to do with being captive bred.

Sorry to hear
It is still unusual over here, it usually turns out to be columnaris (not to say that it isn't NTD).

Thats the reason I haven't rehomed my neons. They have NTD and no matter what you do, it doens't heal/go away. Still have 5 of them with it but hasn't gotten worse or ( as expected ) none of the other fish have it.

I suspect the NTD is due to the cheaper imports from Asia and poor quality fish.
I first noticed something was not quite right a few months ago with the odd Neon tetra.
