Do you think it's kinder to rehome the 4 aeneus rather than keep them at a temp of 25 before adding Sterbai? I know advice is always to stick to more of the one kind but wondering if a mix would actually look cool.

Our local shop has Schwartzi Corys but I’m worried if my temp at 25-26c will be too high for them 🙈
Any advice?

They would probably better around 24C, but they should just about be ok at 25C.

Is 25C ok for Adolfoi or is that a bit warm for them long term?

They are best at around 22-24C long-term.

They are better at 20-26C, 25C is close to the top of their range but should be OK.

All Corys are most at home on a substrate the same colour as themselves, so the ‘best’ species for black sand would be the very dark ones. Their colouration serves as camouflage for the substrate they naturally live on.

Saw the Albino Sterbai in a store they're quite pretty when you seem them up close, stuck with the originals though. Would have made a nice wee mixed group.

You got any pictures 😁

I really wanted some smudge spot cory's for my blank sand but couldn't find them anywhere so got some weitzmani cory... the guy is keeping hold of them until my tank has fully cycled.

I've seen sterbai on black sand/ substrate in shops and the whole body pattern was a lot more black than mine (kept on pale sand). The orange finnage pops well, but I couldn't quite decide if I preferred the darker bodied ones or not.

The albino sterbai would obviously pop against the darker substrate. My albinos are pretty hard to see on similar coloured sand, but I do like the unusual(ness?) of them.
