In my searches for smaller sized tetras, i’ve come across Ruby tetra. I’m wondering if they’d be a nice alternative to embers for my 29L kitchen tank? No idea how easy they are to source, although they are listed at Maidenhead/Fishkeeper Scotland. No idea why i’m never totally hooked on embers!

I've never seen them.
If they can't be sourced, have a look at flame tetras (they don't get too big and are a wider body) or the cousin/morph pink flame tetra.
I like gold tetra as well, they've gone well with my pygmy corys.

@plankton I knew you’d know. Flames are also on my list but wasn’t sure for the 29L....although it’s narrow and tall like them .

That's so cool. I've never seen a black Discus before, except a very ill one. I'd love to find one!
