How long does it take the young Swordtail Barbs to grow their sword tails? And does that signify that they are mature to mate?

I’ve never heard of a Swordtail Barb. Do you have it’s Latin name?

Afraid I don't know the Latin name although I did study that language for 5 years; ;) but I do have a photo.
I have 3 others which have black tails.
Sorry about the quality of photo, Quarantine Tank is a bit of a frenzy ATM.

They’re Swordtails (the middle one might be a Platy, from that angle) Livebearers, not barbs. Only males develop swords. The ones pictured are females. They’ve been mature for a long time.

Thanks again @black ghost , the fish were all in a tank marked as "Assorted Barbs", hence my guess. Now you have identified them as female Swordtails, I just need to get a male and sort out another tank. :P
