Ok I'll give a go with what I have currently (gdex) and move to exit/2000 when that arrives

I'm just thinking now and wondering if the carbon pad I thought was inactive may have been removing the meds or there is a tray of white chips I assumed to be cirax, but what if it is something else.. this is the problem with a secondhand tank and media I guess.
The qtank will probably tell me this and I'll need less drops for meds too

Any carbon may adsorb meds, get rid of it.
Not many meds don't break down within 48 hours any more, so carbon is even less necessary in an average community tank nowadays.
If there is some new left then keep it just in case. ;)

Oh great, bet the rainbows heal up straight away in the qtank!
I just thought the carbon pad stopped doing anything after a few months and the guy had the tank since who knows... We shall see...
What about the box of white chips? Any reason to remove?

Unfortunately not.. there's also a small rip in its tail now..
Think I'll steer away from these rainbows in future, all but one seems to have had the same problem

She doesn't look good at all. :(

I've been scouring the web and it looks like my thoughts about their own type of iridovirus may be on the right track....but I still can't find out which farms they're mainly coming from.....

No indeed... The male is probably headed that way if the lump on his fin is the same

Thanks for looking around, I could make an enquiry with Reefkeeper? They are a side shoot of MA, mainly doing marine

The lump on the male has erupted at the tail end as of today... Any further clues?

I was planning on 50% water change this eve
Is it worth a second run of Esha gdex or move on to something else?
