No more change for me this morning so it looks like it drops heavily in the first couple of hours.

Have you done the 24 hour test yet?

That will give you a better idea of what's going on.
The change is pretty quick if you're changing 50%.
It may be that you only have to leave the change water standing overnight if it dissipates.
Yes, I did mean do smaller water changes to keep it more stable - that's why I only change 10%-15% per WEEK. ;) :)
If it's sorting itself out in 24 hours in the tank, then it's probably something in the tank that's lowering it that quickly due to the low KH if it isn't dissipating.

I've tested mine @plankton and it hasn't dropped anymore. The significant drop happened somewhere in the first few hours from 7.4 to somewhere between 6.8/7.0

@plankton Just doing it. I always thought that larger water changes were better but perhaps not in one hit!

Straight out of the tap is 7.4.

Will test it again this evening and then again tomorrow.

In the meantime I'll do a small water change.
