Thanks folks, I have now lost all the affected blue tetra, :( the 2 that remain were a size bigger to start with no spots on them yet so now I wonder how I will know if the meds are working, will run the 5 day course it's day 2 today, then maybe leave them for 6 weeks and see what happens,
It's sad to loose these little fish but thankfully it's not shown up in the main tanks yet (it was always possible I cross contaminated somehow) the tank is only small but have thought of a solution for QT of when I buy too many fish! think I will use the 40l plastic storage tub as well, even if I have to do daily 80% water changes it will be worth it for the sake of 2 weeks. Now I have them bed blocking don't think I will get new fish for a while but this is no bad thing as currently all my spare pennies are going on a garden revamp including a small pond so it's not all bad :)
