Hello,
I noticed 2 days ago that one of my Angels scratched the side of its head against the tank, and I've seen it do it twice since.
On close inspection it has a small white growth just behind its gill cover, It's not round like Ich.

All the other fish seem OK, and the parameters are stable:

Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate <25ppm (this is a little suspicious as my tap water is over 30)
dGH >14
dKH 15
PH7.6
Temp 25.1 deg C

I was wondering if it could be skin of gill flukes, I have ordered some NTLABS NT480 Anti-Fluke and wormer.
I need advice on dosing as i have corys in the tank and i don't know if they are sensitive to this type of meds.

The corys should be ok, but can you get a pic, just to make sure it's not a tumour or something other than flukes?

Hard to get a pic right now as my wifes at work and i only have a dumb phone!
It looks attached rather than growing but is quite small so a little hard to tell.

The fish is very active when i get close to the tank, but hides from the others when I'm further away
but I'll try for a pic later.

A small white growth. That’s not a symptom of flukes.

What shape is it, and what does it look like?

I used the term growth probably inadvisedly.

It's a very small rod like white attachment. Right at the outside edge of the gill cover.

Still not flukes. :)

From the sound of that it could be just a sliver of skin hanging off... or possibly a baby Anchor Worm? They’re more translucent than white though.

Maybe they've been fighting and the gills are always among the first parts to get damaged....??

Hi, Thanks for the suggestions. seems to have fallen off what ever it was, just a tiny mark left.

I did treat with the fluke and wormer as I'm fairly sure my tiniest angel has worms as it eats as much as the others and is small with stringy poo.

The fluke and wormer will treat tapeworms, but not nematode worms which your Angel is likely to have.
