Thought the pair were acting a little odd, polar parrot and convict. At feeding time they brought the fry out, between 50-100.

Mum and dad fiercely protective, luckily the other fish are taking the hint!

Bit of a suprise but hey-ho. I'm still having to go to work everyday, but the wife is furloughed for a month and she's really excited by them so I'll let her (within reason) take them on. If they survive the local LFS will be well stocked!
I've seen the bigger Oscar down there getting a mouthful of fry before being chased away so I don't fancy the odds!

Like this. They have all gone now, most likely eaten by a hungry Oscar! If they have another batch I might take a couple out and try to raise them, the rest can stay in as I've been advised giving to LFS is poor form as they would be hybrids at that's frowned upon

Cheers mate, they only lasted a week or so and were tiny so didn't get attached. The above pic was just for reference. The Mrs is upset tho, she really wanted to see them grow up.
I might set up a kingarten tank, that's a good idea! Something tells me this pair will reproduce quite quickly
