I have one of those wood half barrels as a pot, on the inside the floor is raised to about halfway up, so it's a lot smaller on the inside than you might expect, yours might not be the same, but just thought I would mention it best to find out these things first, if it's just temporary for the summer could you just use a paddling pool? Or this is what I used for drinking trough for the horses fairly indestructible, never cracked in the freezing weather, but maybe too small, don't know if you can get larger sizes?
