I’m feeling sorry for the pond fish! Is there anything I should be doing for them?! They are still active and eating like starvos! Scarves? Hats? Hot chocolate??!!!

I'm sure it depends on the pond and the fish. But from childhood memory. If it gets below 4C I remember being told to stop feeding carp. If the surface freezes make two holes (one at either end), ours were the size of side plates. Do it without disturbing the water too much because the water at the bottom of the pond is warmer than the top and you don't want to mix it too much.

... and if you do make holes, remember not to use a hammer (or anything else percussive)!

My parents always kept a tennis ball in the pond through the winter and then when it freezes just push it through so the ice breaks and remove the ball.

Their fine @Ruth, but don't be tempted to feed them. Feeding Goldfish at a temperature below 12°C can result in food being uneaten, polluting the water and can causing internal problems. Leave them till springtime when the weather gets warmer. :]
WARNING - DO NOT BREED, FEED OR PET THE PUDDLE! :dodgy2:
