Fair enough, but....I know you're completely manic about nitrates, they are highly likely to rise with a plec...... ;)

Haha yeah, I won tho!!! My nitrates are under 5ppm in the tank now, all down to Seachem Purigen!

I've gone off the idea a bit now, not sure it would fit with the fish I have and the dynamic in there. I dare say I'll get one eventually but waiting a year or 2, see what the oscars do first
