My daughter has just lost one of a pair of Cichlid Kribensis. The male died three days ago for no apparent reason after spending 2-3 months in a happy relationship They were the only Cichlids in the tank and since this unfortunate loss the female has lost all her red under belly and hiding herself away in the long grass which is nothing like her normal behaviour. Apparently Cichlids mate for life so the question is do you think she would snap out of it if a new male was introduced.

Yes, but she’s in breeding condition so get a colourful adult male who’s also in breeding condition. If she’s ready and he isn’t she won’t accept him.
