Hi

Just a quick question, does anyone on this forum use hot water from a boiler as part of their top up water?

We have recently had a new boiler fitted, a condensing boiler, but the pipework is all copper.

I'm interested in people's comments, and any problems encountered. Meanwhile I will carry on with a kettle :)

I use my mixer tap to refill my aquarium at the desired temperature after a water change and have never had any problems.

If its a combi boiler then you should be fine as the water is not held in a tank (or maybe a small one). The problem with storage tanks is the water is in them for long periods of time allowing a greater copper ion exchange which can cause issues.
I always run mine before filling the buckets and never had a problem :)

I also use a combi-boiler when doing water changes, I also let the water run for a few seconds to remove any settled water from the pipes before re-filling the aquarium.
