and not just my first build in 14 years but my first new PC/Laptop since 2013 (When I bought the Samsung NP700G7C 17" "gaming" laptop, which is still putting up a brave fight).

Anyways its a AMD Ryzen 5 5600X on an Asus B550M-A motherboard and 64GB of Crucial Ballistix 3000 DDR4 RAM.

CPU cooling is via a Corsair H100X AIO and the additinal case fans are some cheap(ish) chinese addresable RGB ones.

Gfx card is an EVGA GTX950 (from fleabay, new cards are stupid prices ATM)

Storage is a 500Gb Crucial M.2 NVME plus a 2TB Seagate Barracude HDD

Whole thing is powered by a Corsair SF600 PSU and its all shoehorned as an inverted build so that I could have it on the RH side of the desk facing me which puts the IO panel facing towards the chimney breast) into a Cooler Master Q500L case

Little bit of stress testing when I only had 32GB of RAM installed (had to get a replacement Mobo/CPU bundle as the original would not POST with any RAM in the B Channel)

Nice setup @mikeyw64

I'd like a new Radeon RX 6900 XT, if they ever appear. :dodgy2:

I'm dual booting into two different W10 installs.

One is a "Home" install and the other is a "Work" install.

For work I have a couple of Java based development tools that work so much better if you assign dedicated amounts of RAM to them :)

Oh and I may tinker with virtual machines as well ;o)

I think it would fit in length wise but being triple height would put them very close to the top fans/radiator
