Evening fellow hobbyists.

Got some cherry shrimp. All other shrimp and snails are thriving. But a couple of the cherry shrimp look strange. There eating and going about their business. However two have like lighter colour of their back like dry skin. And one of them also seems to have a hunch back.

I've read the colour issue may down to the molt.

Anyone confirm or point in the right direction.

No ammonia, no nitrites or the other one.

Clorine level is zero.

pH is around 6.5 or 7 can't really read the colour that well.

Thanks in advance.

And I'm in Macclesfield for the hardness of water.

Not sure, but....in case they are going to moult, have yo got a source of calcium in there?
A small piece of cuttlefish "bone" will do - that will give them the extra source they need for an easier moult.

Yeah. And all my shrimp are moulting left right and centre. See what happens. They look happy enough for now.

Your Shrimp may well be a low class or low grade Red Cherry Shrimp, meaning therefore their colour isn't as deeper red as say Fire Red Grade Red Cherry Shrimp which cost more to purchase.

Incidentally, I don't know if your aware but if you don't remove the lesser coloured Neocaridina Shrimp, in time through the generations their colour will revert back to their natural form as in the image below. All of my Neocaridina davidi are now in wild colour form.
