No disrespect to you, John, I was just concerned that the fish’s health might be compromised

Who do you use?

Tropco, abyss aquatics, aquatics to your door

That’s the three that come to my mind.

Thanks, lads.

Put 10 Cardinal tetras into the tank yesterday, £35. Just for starters till I see how everything reacts.

well you were still asking about ammonia on July 13, so I assume NOT

''..About Tetra Fish Care..'' website ® says
(quote) .cardinal tetras are very sensitive to ammonia, nitrite, and high levels of nitrate.
The pH also needs to be stable in order for them to survive

keep on eye on these parameters - if they rise, do a 50% water change

and as @fr499y pointed out
''..Using seachem prime and stability is another way to do a fish in cycle as the prime converts ammonia into ammonium which is less toxic to the fish and stability helps reduce nitrites somehow...''

Hi John, and thanks for your continued interest and assistance.

So, since setting the tank up last Monday, and even after adding the 11 x tetras 2 days ago, levels have been stable at 0 for ammonia, 0/0.25 for nitrite and 5.0 for nitrate. PH at 7.0.

The guys at my local Fishkeeper store were confident in suggesting the addition of the tetras on Sunday, to aid the cycling process. Am going back to see them this afternoon, with a query on feeding, as the tetras don’t seem to be taking to the Tropical Formula Complete formula Bug bites. Also want advice of when to do a water change, how much, and can I start adding additional fish, and what types.

Happy for you to interject, if you think they are talking bollocks
