I just read on my Betta Forum that ;

''....Fluval Bug Bites are a Betta species-appropriate brand of pellets....''

so maybe why your Tetras are not interested

are they eating now...?

what are you feeding...?

what did your LFS say ...? what do they use...flakes..?
Correct, flakes
I’m now feeding them ground down bug bites and flakes, fishies seem happier now

Which flakes are you using?
I've actually stopped using flakes now. I've had less digestive problems with the fish. I only use pellets and granules.

Hi, sorry, can’t recall what kind of flakes, and I stuck them in a plastic container and mixed them up with the aforementioned food, as per the photo

Just keep your eye on the fish for bloat, I haven't used those flakes, but I know King British have caused me problems and there was another lot that wasn't great.

Think @plankton, we should ask Herons foods for some sort of advertising payments for the amount of new customers we've given them. :grin:

Staying on the subject of food and feeding, how much is enough, and how often? I’m conscious of over feeding them, maybe too much. For 18 fish, in a 80 litre tank, is it just a small amount, between thumb and forefinger, and only once a day?

Mine get fed every couple of days if I remember. Enough that they can eat in about 30 seconds. Everyone is healthy and the right shape in my tank so they are getting enough food 😁

Noticing that my plants are all coated in a sandy residue, which is as a result of an emergency 80% water change that I had to do, where I accidentally disturbed the sand and substrate. I would have thought the filter would have dealt with that but no success. Should I vacuum to try and get rid?
