postmen need longer shorts in the north, and have costly hairier legs. Hence higher prices! My dear @plankton, there are a lot of hills between Mansfield and Hereford
Plants quickly and cheaply?

I would actually say that I live more west of Watford than north, more accurately West-NorthWest, definitely not north.Martinspuddle wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:51 amThat's because you live north of Watford, postage is costs more.
Unless you are confusing Hereford (where I live) with Hertford, then Hertford would be more north of Watford, but I don't live in Hertford.

@Stephen, just draw a straight line across England through Watford ....anything above, left or right is the frozen north!Stephen wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 12:09 pmI would actually say that I live more west of Watford than north, more accurately West-NorthWest, definitely not north.Martinspuddle wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:51 amThat's because you live north of Watford, postage is costs more.

I'd call the wet north (to me) is anywhere north of Blackpool and the frozen north (to me) anywhere above Carlisle.
The hot south is that little corner in the south-east; London, Surrey, East & West Sussex and Kent. Far too hot for us Welsh borderers.
I live in the temperate west.

Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful, they’re white Welsh and fluffy! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful!
